Simon Gayle

Principal

Simon has worked in schools across West Yorkshire as an RE teacher. He joined Dixons Kings Academy as Head of Department for RE and was later made Head of Faculty. Within the department, outcomes for students have been consistently outstanding with a progress score above +2.

In 2015, Simon moved from his department role to focus on whole school teaching and learning. This involved leading CPD, coaching and practice across the academy. During this time, the school’s Ofsted rating moved from Requires Improvement to Outstanding.

As a Vice Principal, Simon continued to support teaching and learning and quality assurance in the academy. In 2020, he moved to take responsibility for behaviour and attitudes in the academy. As Senior Vice Principal, Simon took on the role of DSL. This has been ideal preparation and experience for his current role as Head of School.

This comprehensive range of roles provided Simon with the ideal foundation for senior leadership. In 2025, he was appointed Principal of Dixons Kings Academy, where he now leads the school with a clear focus on high standards, strong culture, and student achievement.
