Munaza Mir
Vice Principal
Munaza followed a graduate trainee programme at GlaxoSmithKline following completion of her degree. Her passion for science and to inspire future generations led her to pursue a career in teaching and she started her career in a secondary school in Bradford. Munaza progressed quickly to KS4 coordinator and then to Head of Science where she made rapid and sustained impact; an improvement of 30% in science outcomes on previous years.
Munaza joined Dixons Kings Academy in 2015 as the Head of Science and secured outcomes that were in the top 1% of the country for two consecutive years. Following a leadership programme, Munaza was appointed Vice Principal responsible for teaching and curriculum. After two successful years in that role Munaza now leads on exams, data, intervention and quality assurance across the Academy.
At the heart of everything that Munaza does is the need to develop students and to make a difference to their life chances.
