Year 6 Transition

Welcome to our Transition page.

Transition Information Evening

Unfortunately, due to the government announcement on Monday 14 June and the rising number of COVID cases in Bradford, we had to cancel our face-to-face transition information evenings planned for Monday 21-Thursday 24 June.

We have now recorded a series of videos to introduce the people, processes, routines and expectations to help prepare students and families for joining Dixons Kings Academy. All videos can be found on this page. It is important that parents and students watch these videos together and then complete the next steps to support the transition to secondary school.

A transition information pack has been sent to parents containing the following documentation:

  • Parental Letter
  • Student Letter
  • Parent/Carer Handbook 2021-22
  • Home-Academy Agreement
  • Uniform Leaflet
  • MCAS Instructions
  • Student Transition Booklet

All the documents can be found at the bottom of the page if you require an additional copy.

Home-Academy Agreement

Home-Academy Agreement establishes standards that staff, students and parents/carers should follow and uphold at all times.

Please first watch the video on this page by Mr Wilson. The parent and student must sign the Home-Academy Agreement by clicking here: Home-Academy Agreement Signature.

Transition Day

Year 7 Transition Day will take place Tuesday 31 August. This will be the first day at the academy for Year 7 students. All students will have the opportunity to be introduced to their form tutor and meet key members of staff. Students will complete a series of activities to support their transition to secondary school. Further details regarding the timings of the day will be sent to parents in July.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding transition, please email cbinns@dixonska.com.
