Assistant Vice Principal
John qualified as a PE teacher in 2013 after completing a PGCE at Leeds Metropolitan University. He started his career in Bradford where he has undertaken both curriculum and pastoral roles. In his second year of teaching John became Head of PE where he brought great success to the department, expanded the teaching team and created a culture of exemplary learning and engagement. He then extended his role and responsibilities by becoming the Head of Expressive Arts, before taking on a pastoral role as Achievement Leader for Year 9.
John has taught PE from KS3 to A Level and has experience of teaching a variety of KS4 examination courses. Alongside his passion and enthusiasm for PE, he has a drive to ensure that young people, especially those from an economically challenged area, have the best opportunities and school experience to ensure they go on to live happy and successful lives.
John joined Dixons Kings Academy in August 2019 as Assistant Vice Principal with a focus on intervention, assessment, stretch and literacy.
